No ferment no yeast Batura |Fried flat bread

I was checking out how to make baturas when i read few recipes that it needs to be allowed to ferment thats when I saw this show on tv so this recipe has no yeast or no need to ferment.Your chana baturas will be ready in few hours.

no yeast channa batura

In local hotels and chaat shops you get over sized huge ball like baturas served with chana gravy. When I was young we used to goto a hotel in Karama Little hut they served huge baturas with tandoori chicken which used to be super yummy too.We used to go there often and everyone coming there only had that dish their speciality.Anyone remember that??

Spare me for the bad quality of pictures my laptop is still lying dormant around.

Preparation time : 10 minutes + few hours resting time (recommended)

You need

Wheat flour 1 cup
Maida/all purpose flour 1 cup
Yogurt + whey water + milk about 2 tsp enough to make the dough.
Baking powder 1 tsp
Oil 2 tsp
Salt to taste

Oil to deep fry

-Mix all of the above ingredients in a mixing bowl and make a soft pliable dough.Cover in a zip lock bag and allow to rest for atleast an hour or few hours if time permits.

- Pinch small lime sized balls of the dough and roll them out into desired sized puris.Deep fry until golden on both sides.

Serve them hot with channa gravy or chicken curry as you please.

All I can tell you this was a killer combination we all loved it.
